College and Career Center
JCHS is proud to announce that our College and Career Center has been refurnished and now is open to all students grades 9-12. There are computers for students to use, information on colleges, careers, scholarships, the Armed services, financial aid, personal topics , and life skills.
The center is now located in the Guidance Office.
The JCHS PTSA is sponsoring this program to insure that all college profiles will be updated and maintained in the Guidance Office for our students. We are always in need of volunteers. We have many upcoming college visits and will be adding new schools weekly so please check back if the dates listed in the SignUp do not work for your schedule.

THREE NEW HELPFUL DOCUMENTS ON COMMON APPLICATION ESSAYS: “Uncommon Help on the Common App”
College admissions is highly dependent on the Common Application essays. Learn the single best thing you can do for your essays. Learn what is said about your essays behind closed doors in evaluation committee. Get some inside advice you probably haven’t heard. Avoid the biggest mistake commonly committed on the Common App. These are topics covered in the three articles below written by Emory Professor Steven J. Ahn, who kindly shared them with Johns Creek High school College and Career Center.
Professor Ahn is an Emory professor who also evaluates applications and essays and conducts admissions and scholarship interviews for Emory and UPenn / Wharton. He is also a professional writer, author, and editor.
